Where I am in my life

Hey! How are you all? It's been a long time huh? I hope you're all well and enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having recently.

I last posted on my blog back in July 2016, so I think it's definitely time to sit down and write a catch up post.

This could turn into a bit of a ramble, so I apologise in advance.

1. What's been going on?
I moved back to Sussex almost two years ago to be with my family, and I deal with the daily palava of commuting into London. On a good day it can take 90 minutes door to door, and other days it has taken 3 hours. With the long commute, I have lost out on blogging time and day to day life just took over.

Alhamdulilah my makeup business has taken off, and it's amazing to see people using my products that I created. There's nine Solar Glow Highlighters and twenty loose glitters. I'm proud of where I am now, although I have to admit it's difficult juggling a full time job and running my business. However, hard work will always pay off and I strongly believe in that.

2. Has blogging been replaced with Instagram?
For a while I stopped reading blogs, and was glued to my Instagram feed. Brands are constantly churning out new products on a daily basis, and on occasion I wanted to see swatches then and there. I feel like Instagram is the ideal platform to quickly summarise a product, and I would usually make an instant decision whether or not I wanted to purchase the product. It also worked a little too effectively as I ended up seeing a multitude of products that I wouldn't necessarily purchase but Instagram just enabled me. No self control eh?

3. So what have I been purchasing recently?
I went to New York back in April for IMATS, and made a huge dent in my bank balance! I haven't really purchased much recently as I am trying to use things I already have in my collection. I did pop to Primark in Westfield Shepherds Bush (yes, they have one now) and picked up a few little bits. I didn't go crazy and literally picked up two of their highlight and glow palettes. One of them is an exact dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sundipped Glow Kit. I'm hoping to do a blog post on that in the next week or so.

4. What products have you been enjoying recently?
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid has been amazing for my skin especially during Ramadan. I apply this to my face after toning but before any other face creams or SPF. As an oily skinned girl, I still suffer from dehydration. This serum helps put moisture back into my face, as well as making my skin looking plump. The other stand out product is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette. The mattes are incredible and I pretty much use this palette in all my makeup looks. It's seriously a must have!

5. What's next?
Now that Ramadan has finished, I have officially started my training for Everest Base Camp. My trek is in December, so I have a good six months to train. For those who don't know, I am trying to raise money for the Rohingya refugees displaced in Bangladesh. I'm in a good position with my social media, and wanted to use my platform to make people aware of what was going on and make a difference. If you would like to support me, then please feel free to donate here.

Wow, that was a pretty long post. Let me know if you do enjoy my blog posts and also what you would like for me to review and chat about.

See you soon. x
