MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Cheeky Bronze + Swatches

If you know me, i love highlighting products. Whether it's Spring, Summer, Autumn, i will always have time for highlighters! I love adding a bit of glow to my face, and this one i picked up a while ago is perfect for Autumn and Winter.

OMG MAC Cheeky Bronze is stunning! As much as i love Soft and Gentle and Gold Deposit, Cheeky Bronze is on a whole 'nother level.

Cheeky Bronze is described as a soft coral with gold shimmer, but on my skin tone it appears like a rose gold highlighter. It has exactly the same formula as the other MAC Mineralize Skinfinishes. It is finely milled and soft to apply.

I have to apply this with a very light hand, because of how pigmented it is. I don't use a lot for during the day, but when i'm really dressing up, then i like to add more ;)

I am finding Cheeky Bronze the perfect autumnal highlighter for my skintone. It's the perfect balance between Soft and Gentle, and Gold Deposit.

I have been using it with Illamasqua Beg Blush, as i find that they both compliment each other, and is subtle enough to wear to the office. I love adding a glow to my skin all year round, and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Cheeky Bronze is perfect for that.

What's your autumnal highlighter?

NEW Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow Review + Swatches

Evening everyone! How are you all today?

I wanted to share my first thoughts and lots of swatches of the NEW Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows. I know how difficult it is to get hold of MUFE here in the UK, so hopefully these swatches will be helpful to you guys.

I'm not going to ramble on too much, as i have a detailed video review at the end of this post, which explains everything about the new eyeshadows, so feel free to watch it. :)

Just to let you guys know, this post is pretty picture heavy!

Top Row Left - Right: M600, M608, M664, M704, M726
Bottom Row Left - Right: M738, M816, M822, M842, M844
Top Row Left - Right: S234, S604, ME230, ME302
Bottom Row Left - Right: ME304, M310, M612, I328, D320

These refill eyeshadows retail at £12.50, which is actually pretty decent considering how much product you're getting! I can't wait to purchase some more shades, but i think i'm gonna have to wait a while! ;)

All MUFE products can be purchased from Guru Makeup Emporium or Precious About Make-up.

Have you tried anything from MUFE? Any recommendations?

MAC Objects Of Affection Gold + Beige Pigments + Glitter Swatches

A couple of days ago i reviewed the MAC Objects Of Affection Pink + Rose Pigments & Glitter, and i wanted to share the Gold & Beige set before it was sold out! Check out my previous review and swatches HERE.

I'm not going to harper on about the products, because they are exactly the same as the other set i reviewed.

I think set is going to be quite popular, just because it steers to the more neutral side and is very wearable. As i mentioned previously, these shades can be worn together, but i actually like using a MAC 217 brush and applying a wash of colour to my lids. I LOVE how there is a matte shade in this set, as there wasn't one in the previous set. The Deep Brown is perfect for doing a cut crease, before applying the glitter, or just creating a smokey eye makeup.

I can't stop staring at the shades English Gilt and Pretty It Up. They just look stunning.....i'm thinking of how they would look when applied wet!

This set is a win, win for me! If you do want to get the set, i would recommending getting them as soon as possible, as they always sell out!

I will be doing some looks using these products, so keep an eye out on my channel!

Will you be picking up this set or any others?

MAC Objects Of Affection Pink + Rose Pigments + Glitter Swatches

Evening all! There are a lot of Christmas sets that are coming out in stores, and i always love the MAC Limited Edition Holiday sets.

I picked up two of the Objects of Affection Pigments set, and i am not going to go into too much detail because some of the pigments are part of the permanent collection. The set comes with four pigments and one glitter. All the pigments are exactly the same quality as the ones from the permanent line. You get 2.6g of pigment and 4g of glitter.

These are fantastic sizes for pretty much everyone. It gives people a chance to try out the product, without having to purchase a full size, and it's an excellent addition to the kits of makeup artists. Normally an individual pigment is £17 and this set is only £26!

My main aim of this post was to share swatches, as i couldn't find many on darker skin tones. The swatches below are applied dry and without a primer. I prefer using the pigments wet, as the intensity of the colours are just incredible. I applied some MAC Mixing Medium onto my hand, so that the glitter had something to adhere to.

I thought the entire set was going to be just pink, but i like how there is mixture of soft pinks, tans and a burgundy. It makes the set much more wearable, and tan would be a fabulous shade to use as a wash of colour. This set is perfect for all skin tones, and you can use the pigments as subtly or as intense as you wish.

I love using pigments, and i think this is great for makeup enthusiasts. Just remember to do your eye makeup before the rest of your face, as you may experience some drop down.

This is a limited edition item, so get it quick before it sells out!

What do you think of this set?

Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Camel - The Everyday Eyeshadow

This eyeshadow featured in my October favourites and I'm not surprised i didn't mention it sooner! It isn't just any matte eyeshadow, it is the PERFECT matte eyeshadow! I'm not one to really wear mattes but this shade has completely converted me.

I think the name 'Camel' describes the shade very well. It isn't the typical warm brown eyeshadow. It has an earthy undertone to it, and isn't cool nor warm, which makes it pretty ideal for all skintones.

It applies very well onto the lid, and isn't chalky or powdery. I find that some mattes are a hit or a miss. I do have to use this over Urban Decay Primer Potion, as my eyeshadows do crease.

You can use this in a number of ways and my favourite way is just to apply it to the lids as a wash of colour. It is a 'my lids, but better shade'. It gives my eyes a bit of colour, so you can see i have something on, but it doesn't look too much. The other great things about Camel is that you can use it as a transitioning colour. Have you ever found yourself doing a super smokey eye and you're forever blending? Well use camel to transition the darker eyeshadow and it will make your life so much easier.

It isn't a cheap eyeshadow, costing £18, however you do get 2.5 grams. This is much more than what you get with MAC eyeshadows. The other thing that i really don't like, is that i can't just pop it into my MAC or Z palette. They are designed, so you can pop them into their palettes and no other! I kinda wish they sold a magnetic pan form.

My overall thoughts? Apart from the price, I am LOVING this matte eyeshadow! For those warmer skins looking for an everyday matte eyeshadow or a transitioning shade, then try Camel.

What is your everyday eyeshadow?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Review + Swatches

Evening beautiful people! I haven't blogged in so long and i finally sat down today and took a few pictures. I have missed it a lot, and i'm hoping to get back into the groove of things.

So, today's post is going to be about the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, which i have been LOVING! Some of you may have noticed that i have been using it in my tutorials, and wanted to let you know my thoughts.

I love contouring, whether it's a subtle contour or full on Kim K, and this has to be one of my favourite contour products. It houses all the shades i need for contouring and highlighting, making it super easy to get ready when i'm in a rush!

I ordered six of the shades individually, because i wasn't going to use some of the shades in the pre-filled palette. The palette comes free when you order six of the refills and you still only pay $40. Not bad huh?

The six shades that i chose were:
  • Banana
  • Champagne
  • Peaches & Cream
  • Nutmeg
  • Havana
  • Espresso

These colours are perfect for medium to dark skin tone. I only have one shimmery highlighter in the palette, which is champagne and the rest are matte. The contouring shades aren't muddy, and allow you to create a natural contour or something very dramatic, mimicking the natural shadows of your face.

Left - Right: Banana, Champagne, Peaches & Cream, Nutmeg, Havana, Espresso

Longevity of this is incredible! It lasted about 10 hours or so without any fading. They don't feel chalky, or powdery and apply very smoothly onto the face. The palette is extremely sturdy, and is excellent for makeup artists. I am so impressed with this palette, and it is one that i would recommend to those who love to contour!

The contour refills are $14 each, or $40 for a palette, and can be purchased HERE.

Have you tried the ABH Contour Kit?

A Holy Grail Foundation | MAC Studio Sculpt NC44

When I first used this foundation back in 2010, I just didn't get on with it and the colour shade was a bit off even though it was NC42. Fast forward a few years and I thought I would give it another try. I purchased NC44 and let's just say I have been using it pretty much everyday!

It is a gel based foundation, which is perfect for my combination skin. It melds in with the skin on application and it is one of the very few foundations I have come across that doesn't hold onto dry patches.

I love the coverage of this foundation, as it doesn't feel as heavy as MAC Studio Fix Fluid and still makes my skin look pretty much flawless. I like applying this with a beauty blender, because it buffs in the foundation, making it looks super natural. I prefer using foundations that make skin still look like skin......does that make sense?

Studio Sculpt is water resistant, making it great to use in warmer climates because it really stays put! It's one of those foundations that can be built up for a more fuller coverage, but is still light enough to be worn on a day to day basis.

The packaging of the foundation is super handy, because there's no pump to faff around with and is great to travel with as it's a tube!

I have to say this has become my holy grail foundation and is a staple in my daily makeup routine! I can wear it as light or as heavy as i want, and get the perfect base!

What is your holy grail foundation?

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Dim Light Review

Ok, i told myself i wasn't going to give into this product due to the hype. I had been into Space NK several times, swatching it on my hand and i just couldn't see why people were raving about this product!

Then a few weeks ago i was in London and of course i ended up in Space NK. I was asking the assistant about a few other products and then we managed to get onto the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders! She dusted dim light over my face and i was instantly sold!

When you look at the packaging, it honestly screams luxury! The metal casing is durable but also lightweight. It's not something that i would keep in my handbag, as i personally wouldn't touch up my makeup with this powder. I prefer to apply it in the morning or just before i'm going out.

It is a very finely milled powder, almost feeling silky! When you swatch it with your finger, you can barely feel it.

The Ambient Lighting Powder is more of a finishing powder, and isn't something that would control oil. I normally still set my makeup with my chosen powder, either MAC Blot Powder or Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder and then finish off dusting dim light over my face. So now onto how it looks.......

The effect on the skin is very subtle, yet noticeable. Dim light gives a sort of soft focus finish to the face. My entire face looks softer, smoother and almost brighter. It is a very difficult product to swatch, but you can see that on the face, it appears as almost a blurred effect.

Dim light is great for all skin tones, and doesn't appear ashey on those with warmer skin tone.
I have been using this pretty much everyday since i got it, and when used combined with my Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, my face pretty much looks flawless. I have received so many compliments with how good my skin has been looking (little do they know!).

It retails at £38 and fortunately i had saved up around £10 worth of points on my N.dulge rewards card, and ended up only paying £28! I would happily spend £38 on this powder, as i love how it instantly transforms my face without it looking like i have caked on makeup! This product is certainly a winner for me!

Have you tried any of the ambient lighting powders from Hourglass?
