Easy, Cheap Makeup Storage

When it comes to makeup storage, acrylic drawers seems to be the go to thing. I think this started off with the Kardashians, who have been known to have huge acrylic drawers from Clear Cube. Unfortunately for us mere mortals £300+ is a lot to spend on drawers!

Many of us jumped onto the Muji acrylic drawers bandwagon (including me!), however if you have a large collection like mine, it still works out pretty expensive and the drawers aren't deep enough for bottles of foundation etc.

A couple of years back, we purchased some stationary drawers from Staples to hold paper and other bits and bobs. Recently we have had a huge clear out with the decorating that's been going on and these drawers needed a new home.

These stationary drawers are excellent for storing makeup because they're sturdy and are deep enough to store a lot of makeup! The other plus is that they can be picked up from your local stationary shop because I know I struggled trying to purchase Muji products, when there's not that many stores in the UK.

I don't openly store my makeup on a vanity table because I just don't have the space in my room, but all my lotions, potions and makeup are stored nicely away inside a section of my wardrobe. Now, I know these plastic drawers aren't exactly the prettiest things but because it's inside my wardrobe it doesn't bother me.

I prefer keeping my makeup in drawers, as it makes it much easier to find items and if I can psychically see the makeup, I'm more likely to use it!

How do you store your makeup?

  1. that's the trickiest thing to do when you don't have lots of cash to splurge on pretty storage... I've been trying to find the best way to store my makeup for some time now and despite I don't have a huge collection like you, it's still pretty hard ... I know I'll buy a beautiful storage one day but now I have other priorities...

  2. I know exactly what you mean, my make up collection is ridiculous now. However, I never did purchase those acrylic boxes from Muji, I went to Rymans instead. The drawers are quite dense so can fit a lot more into it and it's way cheaper!

  3. I like the handles on these looks sturdy

  4. They make it a point to get to know their customers they keep track of people entering the facility which gives me peace of mind when it comes to storing something in the city.

  5. I use one of those 5 drawer sterilite containers you can buy at walmart or target. It stores all my makeup but I may upgrade to a more sturdy Alex drawer set from Ikea. Not sure yet.

  6. What an excellent storage idea! Thanks for the tip x
