5 Things You Need In Your Summer Makeup Bag

The summer has finally arrived in the UK. Well sort of. I have been loving the gorgeous weather here in London, but I have had to seriously change up my makeup, and that meant going shopping!

I have been so busy with work, and travelling that I haven't had much time for myself including shopping. Maybe that's a good thing right? I was introduced to Octer, an online marketplace with some of the biggest UK stores under one roof. This makes it perfect for me as I can purchase all the makeup I want need in one go.

There have been a few products that I have been reaching for a lot over the last couple of weeks, and they have become staples in my routine.

NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint Cuba is a recent addition to my makeup collection, and when I first used it, I hated it! Strong words, I know. I made the mistake of mixing it with my Cover FX Custom Drops G70, as I wanted more coverage and it didn't mesh well. Since then, I have been using the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint on it's own and it is a beautiful tinted moisturiser. I would recommend this for those who have combination or oily skin. It gives a light coverage on the skin, but without making your face look like an oily slick.

The Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drop in Moonstone is one of my favourite liquid highlighters. Obviously I don't like looking like an oily disco ball, but I love having a glow. Ok.....I love glowing so much that you would probably be able to see my highlight from space. LOL! The Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drop can give the skin a natural luminosity, making it ideal to wear during the day or to the office. However, when you want a serious highlight, then it does the job a bit too well! Use this highlighter with caution as it's majorly pigmented.

In the last couple of months, I have had the opportunity to travel to very hot destinations coming home with more than a tan. It got to the point where I couldn't keep track of my shade, and was fed up of having various shades of foundation. The NYX Pro Foundation Mixer is the perfect solution. You can add this to your existing base product, and it will darken or lighten your foundation depending on which mixer you get. This means that I can still use my current foundation without having to buy a foundation every time my skin tone changes. Win!

Some of you may have noticed that I have had a slight obsession with the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. I know I have tanned skin anyway, but this bronzer gives your skin a gorgeous sun kissed effect. I have used bronzers which have an overly orange tone to them, and this bronzer has a more neutral shade making it ideal for contouring or warming up the skin. It also smells like chocolate.....who wouldn't love that?

I like keeping my lips quite natural in the summer, and love wearing glosses when it's not a windy day. Urgh, I hate those days when it's windy and your hair gets caught in your lipgloss. Epic fail. The NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Toasted Marshmallow is the ideal product for this time of year. It's a gorgeous dark pink shade, perfect for all skin tones. It has a thicker consistency and doesn't feel ridiculously sticky on the lips.

What are your must haves for summer?

Thank you so much for reading. :)
