ColourPop Lippie Stix Brink + Lippie Pencil Grunge

I'm sure you all know that I'm a nude lipstick kinda gal. There are those days that I will want to wear a bold lip, but most days I end up going for a soft nude colour.

A few months ago I ordered some ColourPop makeup (haul here), and I picked up a few lip products. I really didn't need anymore lipsticks or lip pencils, but I thought it would be rude not to add a couple of bits to my cart. I didn't want to go crazy (ha ha) because I wasn't sure if I was going to like them, and I thought for $5-$6 you can't go wrong.

I've been using this lip combination for a couple of weeks now, and I thought it was time to share my thoughts. Firstly, the packaging is really cute, clean and simple. I love how they are white, because it makes it so much easier for me to rummage through my ridiculous makeup collection!

Brink Lippie Stix is described as a warm dusty taupe with a matte finish. This actually shows up as a warm pink on my lips. I think it depends on your skin tone, as well as how pigmented your lips are (mine are pretty pigmented). Even though this has a matte finish, it isn't super matte where it is making your lips feel like the Sahara desert. *cough cough MAC!*

I have fallen in love with Grunge Lippie Pencil, OMG it is lush. It's a cool toned brown, and pairs so well with Brink. The formula of this lip pencil is different to what I have used in the past, and kinda reminds me of the Make Up Forever Aqua Lip Pencil. It is super pigmented, very creamy and doesn't drag on the lips. It is actually the perfect base for a lipstick or a liquid lipstick.

I can't stop using this lip combination, but I'm also pairing ColourPop Grunge Lippie Pencil with a lot of other neutral lipsticks. I don't know what it is with this shade, but it really does bring a nude lipstick to life.

Do you have a favourite lip combination? Have you tried any lip products from ColourPop?
