Simple Smokey Eyes

Evening guys! A few nights ago i was getting ready to film a video for YouTube but didn't have enough time to film a tutorial, so thought i would share it on my blog.

Lets start with the face......

I used my beloved MAC Studio Sculpt in NC44, blending it in with a beauty blender and then used MAC Select Moisturecover Concealer in NC42 to cover my blemishes. YSL Touche Eclat was for under my eyes and then i set my makeup with EX1 Pure Crushed Minerals Powder Foundation in M400.

I contoured using the Natural Collections eyeshadow in Crushed Walnut and buffed it in with a Real Techniques Contour Blush. The Bobbi Brown Bronzer in Deep is the perfect bronzer for warming up the face and isn't too orange or muddy.

Beg blush from Illamasqua was used, as i wanted to keep the cheeks quite subtle and i have been using this pretty much everyday. I have been loving using The Luminizer.......oh my god, it is one of the most beautiful highlighters and gives the skin this intense sheen!

It had to be all Anastasia Beverly Hills products for my brows! I used the Dip Brow Pomade in Ebony to define the brows, and the Brow Wiz in Ebony to neaten everything up. To keep my brows in place, i used the Tinted Brow Gel in Espresso.

The Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden is sooooo much better than the original. The yellow tone of the primer just makes eyeshadows pop! For the main colour on my lid, the KIKO Lounge Warm Tones Palette was used (bottom left colour). To define the socket, the matte brown was used and blended. I wanted to add a bit of warmth to the socket, so added the cranberry shade and blended.

To line my eyes, the Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner was of course my first choice, finishing off with House of Lashes in Femme Fatale. I used L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes in Noir Excess to blend my lashes and false lashes together. I wanted to deepen the socket, and used the Lorac Pro Palette Eyeshadow in Black and added Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perversion to my waterline. I added the gold shade wet in the inner part of eyes.

Lips were kept pretty neutral with MAC Lipstick in Fast Play, topping it off with Nars Lip Lacquer in Chelsea Girls.

I hope you all enjoyed the look and you're all having a great weekend!

The Bold Lip | Sephora Cream Lip Stain Strawberry Kissed

I am one of those people that as soon as the weather gets better, my bright lip colours make an appearance. I don't know what it is with the sunshine and bright colours, but that's how i work guys!

I wouldn't really describe this as a lip stain, but more a matte lip colour.  This is a bright pinky red that has a super matte finish.

I have never been keen on matte lip products because i have always found them drying, but this baby is not like anything else! It doesn't feel drying, nor heavy and stays put all day! I have noticed that similar products can start to flake or crack off the lips, which is not a good look.

It applies like a creamy gloss, but then dries to an intense matte colour. It almost sets on the lips, and leaves a smooth, bold lip. I love how light weight it feels on the lips....almost as if you have nothing on at all!

It comes with a doe foot applicator, however in the morning i still like using a lip brush, just to give it a more sharper finish. The fab thing is that it doesn't bleed, so there's no need for a lip pencil.

This lip product stays put on my lips pretty much the whole day. I have worn it from 7.30am until 5.30pm and only had to touch up a tiny bit on my lips....purely due to the fact that i was eating a very messy salad! Me thinks this is going to be my go-to summer shade and the other bonus is that it makes my teeth look super white! :-)

Is this a shade you would wear?

Clarins Colours of Brazil Quartet + Eye Liner Palette Review With Swatches

Before i start talking, can we please take a moment and admire how beautiful this palette looks! The embossing on the eyeshadows is simply stunning!

With the weather being up and down recently, i can't believe that summer is just round the corner! The Colours of Brazil Quartet & Eye Liner Palette* makes me think of the white sandy beaches and sunshine in Brazil.

The palette comes with four neutral eyeshadows (mixture of shimmer, satin and mattes), and a vibrant blue eyeliner. Don't let the blue put you off, it works as a liner for the upper and lower lash line, as well as a base for eyeshadow.

Many of us girls love wearing neutral shades on the eyes, but this time of year i like adding a pop of colour and i think the cobalt blue is perfect.

There are three brown eyeshadows and a soft orange, which isn't bright at all, and would look amazing as a wash of colour on the lids. All the eyeshadows have a smooth and even application with no fallout. This palette is perfect for either a simple, everyday look, but can be intensified for a dramatic evening look.

This palette can be worn pretty much all year round and I love the combination of neutral and bright shades, making it very versatile. It's making me want to pack my suitcase, head to Brazil and get my samba on!

Will you be checking out the new palette from the Colours of Brazil range? This palette retails for £32 and can be purchased HERE.

FOTD | Office Makeup

I tend to keep my makeup quite simple for work but last Monday i wanted to give my face a bit of oomph, plus i actually woke up on time, so i didn't have to rush for once! I'm kinda glad it's Bank Holiday Monday tomorrow.....no setting the alarm!

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in NC44 was applied using the Real Techniques Stipling Brush....i always go back and forth with this foundation but it evens out my skin and doesn't feel heavy or go cakey.

YSL Touche Eclat No. 3 is an everyday staple of mine and brightens up the under eye area instantly! I also used MAC Select Moisturecover NC42 concealer, as i have the ugliest zit on my face. This is one concealer that is perfect for when your spot goes a bit dry, as it doesn't emphasise the dryness.

To set my base, i used the MAC Blot Powder in Medium-Dark....i think it's time i purchased another one! This powder just sets my makeup and prevents my face from looking too shiny!

I wanted to try out the new addition to my makeup family, and it was the Benefit Watt's Up. I applied this to my cheekbones and blended with my fingers. It gives the cheekbones a golden sheen, but i still want to play around with it a bit more. My blusher of choice recently has been Beg from Illamasqua. It's just a soft pink that's perfect for work!

Now on to the eyes.....

I haven't actually focused on my eyes in a while, so it was kinda nice to put some eyeshadow on for once!

I used Sephora Crayon Jumbo 12H in Dark Taupe Shimmer on the outer V of my eye, and then applied Pewter from the Lorac Pro Palette to the rest of my lid. Then on my outer V, i used Sable and Espresso with a MAC 217 and softly blended it. I used the same colours on my lower lash line as well.

I also used Taupe as a transitioning colour in my crease, as i didn't have a lot of time to blend. Trust me when i say that a transition shade is perfect to blend out any harsh lines and to soften the look when time isn't on your side!

To finish off the look, i used Illamasqua Precision Gel Eyeliner and MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara. I'm trying to make the most of my MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara, as it's coming to end! Boo!

I kept the lips really simple, and stuck to the Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me. I prefer keeping it easy on the lips for work, as i prefer being able to reapply without the need for a mirror!

......so that's it!

This took me about 25 minutes to do, which isn't too bad! I want to start using more eyeshadows for work, as i have tons of palettes. I think it's time i have a little rummage through my makeup collection!

What's your makeup routine at the moment?

Highlighter Lovin' | Revlon Photoready Skinlights in Bare Lights

I gave in when there was a 3 for 2 offer in Boots, and purchased the Revlon Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare Light.

You all know how much i am obsessed with MAC Strobe Lotion, and i wanted to see how this compared, especially it being a drugstore product!

I love how Bare Lights is a more flesh toned highlighter, as the MAC Strobe Lotion has more of a pinky tone to it. I find this highlighter blends in very well, giving the skin a natural illuminated appearance. A lot of highlighters can either be too frosty, too pink or silver, and Bare Lights is pretty much bang on for a liquid highlighter, looking fab on all skin tones.

I have been applying this to the high points of my cheeks using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge after my foundation but before powder. I don't tend to apply liquid highlighters over powder, as sometimes it can lift the product underneath.

It is a very light weight product and doesn't feel sticky on tacky on the face. I did try to mix this with my foundation, but my face ended up looking a bit too glowy!!!

I prefer to only use this highlighter on my cheekbones, otherwise it looks too shimmery with my oily skin! This beautiful highlighter is perfect for illuminating the skin and fits in with all seasons, so you can have a healthy glow all year round!

It retails for £11.99 and can be picked up from your local Boots or Superdrug.

Have any of you tried this? Thoughts?

MAC Haul...........

Evening everyone! I know i have been kinda MIA recently, but that hasn't stopped me from going shopping! LOL!

Last week i was in London and wanted to pick up a few things from the MAC Pro Store, and also check out the new collections. For me, the new collections were kinda meh, but i had a good browse and picked up a couple of items.

I had wanted the MAC Pro Sculpting Creams for so long, and when they launched last year i had missed my chance.....or so i thought! It was like fate, only one Coffee Walnut Pro Sculpting Cream was left and was meant for me! :-)

I also purchased the Pro Sculpting Cream in Accentuate, Prep+Prime Natural Radiance in Radiant Yellow and an Amplified Lipstick in Fast Play.

So that's my recent MAC haul.....i did better than expected?!

I have so many other blog posts to write, some which have been half done and then.......i guess i got a bit side tracked?! Dunno, but i know for sure i need to get my head down and get some posts up for you guys!

So, have you picked up anything from MAC recently?
