I have been on the hunt for a drugstore version of the YSL Touche Eclat, however some were either too light, too pink or too dark! I then came across the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer and it is the perfect dupe for my beloved Touche Eclat! I have done a blog post HERE talking about higher end complexion pens.
L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer comes in three different shades, and I do find the shade selection a bit limited. I picked up the shade in dark, which is a good shade for brightening up the under eye area, yet for people who have darker/deeper skin, it may get a bit difficult to use dark.
They both have very similar packaging and come with the pen style brush applicator. The YSL Touche Eclat has a click button at the top of the pen, which pushes the product and L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer has a twist applicator.
Both of them have this chic, sophisticated packaging and to be honest L'Oreal does own YSL, so i am not too surprised at the similarities.
I find the texture of the L'Oreal one to be slightly thicker in consistency when compared with the YSL Touche Eclat. It is a bit more golden in colour, as the Touche Eclat is much more brighter in appearance.
It isn't cakey at all, and blends into the skin really well. It's great for all skin types, however you may notice if you are on the more oilier side then you possibly have to reapply a bit later on in the day.
This has very good coverage and brightens up my under eye area very well, but if you do suffer from very dark under eye circles, then i would suggest adding another layer or so.
I think this pen is a bargain, as it only costs £8.49 and it's even better when Boots/Superdrug has their 3 for 2 offers! I purchased my YSL Touche Eclat back in April and have been an avid user, but i have a feeling it's going to run out anytime now! It cost me £25, which is a heck of a lot of money for such a teeny tiny pen! I could actually get three of the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealers instead!
I am loving using this concealer pen, as it does the job as good as the YSL Touche Eclat and is significantly cheaper. I do think that there should be a few more shades added to the range, as it will cater for all skin tones.
