Several months ago, i joined the gym and my aim was to tone up, get fitter and lose a bit of weight. Now, i have always wondered how many calories i ave burnt at the gym, and decided to purchase the Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor Watch.
I wanted something that was very accurate in how many calories i was burning. I was using certain apps on my iphone and putting in what i have eaten and what kind of exercise i was doing. However, it wasn't really giving me an idea of what i was burning.....i mean we all burn a different amount calories, so i didn't want to accept an 'average' number for calories burnt.
This comes with a strap that you wear around you chest and you attach a transmitter, which records your heart beat. All the information gets displayed on the Polar FT4 watch. I can actually see your heart rate as i am working out. It also bleeps when i have gone outside my heart beat range......it tends to happen when i am doing cardio or weights!
When i first received the watch, i had to input my height, weight, age and sex. This is what makes it accurate because it automatically calculates the age-based target zone. You can use this for any kind of exercise activity, including swimming, as it is water resistant (30m).
Whenever i go to the gym or have done classes, i don't even remember that i am wearing it! It is super comfortable to wear. The watch keeps track of your last 10 workouts and as many of you know, i like to instagram them so, i know my progress.
I love this watch! This has showed me exactly what i have been burning and it makes me push myself even more on my next workout. For me this is just as important as going to the gym because i can track my progress and up my workouts. Plus it makes me feel great knowing i have burnt XXX calories at the gym!
