Frizz Ease Smooth Start Review

Ok guys, one thing i am going to admit to you is that i am so bad when it comes to choosing shampoos and conditioners. I have been using the same brand for years and thought my hair needed something different!

You all know that i have curly/frizzy hair and i very rarely use heat on it. I believe that, if i can maintain my hair naturally, then why not? I like to use products that will control or help the frizziness that i suffer from!

I was sent the Frizz Ease Smooth Start Shampoo* and Conditioner* and i haven't used Frizz Ease since my college days!

One thing that i noticed straight away was the smell! To be honest, i have no idea how to explain it to you guys! The scent is almost fruity but smelt fresh at the same time.

The shampoo lathers up really well and was very easy to work into my hair. It felt as if it was smoothing out my hair whilst cleaning it, if that makes sense?! The conditioner made my hair feel super silky and was very easy to wash out.

One thing i noticed was that when my hair was left to dry naturally, it didn't go as frizzy. My curls seemed more defined and my hair just smelt ah-mazing! My hair usually gets very knotty and i don't normally brush my hair, i just use a wide toothed comb. Using these products made it less knotty and just seemed much more easier to manage. Also, my hair felt much silkier, softer and not as frizzy! I am definitely picking up more products from this range!

To check out the rest of the range, click HERE.

Have you tried Frizz Ease? Thoughts?

Becca Beach Tint in Watermelon Review

Spring is coming and i wanted to talk about the Becca Beach Tints because i think they're an ideal product for the next coming seasons. I had heard so much about them and wanted to get hold of some. I found it extremely difficult because Becca in the UK had gone into liquidation! However, after a lot of searching, I managed to find a couple of websites that had the shades that I wanted.

You get 7ml of product in a handy little tube. The smell of the beach tints are fruity and sweet. However, they don't have an overpowering fruity scent, which is good!

It is a gel like texture and I find it very easy to blend. I like to dot it on the apples of my cheeks and then blend. It doesn’t ‘set’ as quickly as the Benefit Benetint, so you do have time to blend it into your skin.

I am so pleased with these tints because on my combination skin they have lasted and don’t budge. Some days I haven’t been using powder because my skin has been on the drier side and I am just amazed at how long it lasts on my skin. The tints are water resistant, which makes it ideal for the summer months (if we get one in the UK) or if you're going on holiday!

I love the look that the beach tints give my skin. It just appears radiant and naturally glowing. The shades do not appear overpowering at all and just seems like a natural flush to the cheeks. I haven't used them as a tint for my lips but in the picture i have, just so you guys can see.

The one thing that I find annoying is that the colours are not printed on the individual tubes, so I have no idea which shade I am using! They are only printed on the box they come in, so I have taken the round label from the box and stuck it on the tube!

So, what do i think? I absolutely love the product! It does an amazing job of giving my skin a natural, healthy glow. The only downside is i think £20 is quite a lot for the tints and i'm gutted that i can't find Becca here in the UK, as i was eyeing up some of the shimmering skin perfectors!

Have you tried these tints?

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Review (Before & After Pics)

I have been plagued with continuous breakouts and it was driving me me mad because i couldn't work out why my skin was so bad. So, i was in Boots a couple of months back and saw they had an offer on the La Roche Posay range and purchased the Effaclar Duo.

La Roche Posay has almost become a cult product amongst bloggers, so i was very keen on seeing if it worked and if it could live up to my expectations. Well, lets just say it exceeded it!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo not only unclogs and purifies the pores from future breakouts but it significantly reduces the size of existing blemishes and gets rid of dead skin cells, leaving a more clearer complexion.

The Effaclar Duo is a light gel formula, that can be used day and night or when your skin feels like it's going to breakout. However, i just used the product at night. It is a watery consistency, so i would recommend letting it absorb into the skin before you apply any sort of makeup.

This has been a miracle worker for me and i absolutely love it! I am trying not to use it continuously because my skin doesn't need it and it does dry out my skin a bit. I only use this on my blemished areas or where i can feel a spot coming through. Once my skin looks like it's calming down, i then return to my normal night routine.

Below you can see a before or after picture. The results were after about a week of using the product and i wasn't using it every night!

Overall, this is a fantastic product. A few other people i know, who have been using it, have noticed a difference in their skin. It is a bit expensive for a drugstore product, however the job that it does kinda justifies that! I will certainly be putting this on my repurchase this!

Have any of you used this?

MAC Russian Red Lipstick Review

I love wearing red lipstick, although i am not one of those people who wear it on a daily basis. For me, i think a bold, red lipstick is all you need to brighten up your face and gives such a strong statement.

I have had MAC Russian Red lipstick for months and i am only now just getting to write a review! The great thing with Russian Red is that it compliments all skin tones, so warm and cool skin tones can wear this red. It is highly pigmented and you only need one swoop of this on your lips!

This is a matte finish lipstick, and it was one of the very few MAC lipsticks that didn't dry out my lips. It feels quite creamy but still has a matte feeling.....if that makes any sense? I would always wear a red lipstick with a lip liner because of the boldness of the shade. I wouldn't want it to appear feathered! One thing that you have to remember is that if you have filled in your entire lips with a lipliner, the shade of Russian Red may slightly change, depending on the tone of the liner.

What are my thoughts on this overall? I can't fault this lipstick at all, it's a simple, bold red. If you are unsure of which red to purchase, try Russian Red, just because of the versatility amongst different skin tones.

MAC lipsticks retail at £14 and can be purchased HERE.

Have you tried MAC Russian Red?

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner Review

I am very dependant on my gel liners, whether it be from Bobbi Brown, MAC, Estee Lauder, etc. With the popularity of gel liners, it only made sense to have some drugstore options. I purchased the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner back in December and wanted to tell you my thoughts on this.

It comes in a standard pot with a screw on lid and also comes with an eyeliner brush. I personally found this brush too thick to get a perfect line and flick, so never used it.

I have been using this gel liner for the past couple of months and i haven't been very impressed. Why, you ask? Well, i like to apply my eyeliner with a Louise Young Eyeliner brush and noticed that after i had used the gel liner, the brush had dried to a stiff point. Normally, i wipe the residue off onto a tissue or a wipe but it would still dry stiff! I know that's weird right? I thought it was just me, so i carried on using it but the same thing kept on happening!

Then, a few days ago my sister had actually asked for one of my Bobbi Brown gel eyeliners because she said she didn't really like the Maybelline one. I didn't even realise we had the same one! She told me that she had been finding the same problem with her brush, and she was using a different eyeliner brush to me.

I found that the gel liner isn't as smooth as the Bobbi Brown Gel Liner and doesn't glide on the same either. I have never had an problems with my Bobbi Brown liner drying out, but the MAC Fluidlines did!

Yes, this gel liner does have some good points! This gel is much more purse friendly, retailing at £7.99 and can be easily found in Boots or Superdrugs. It's a great eyeliner for beginners or if you don't want to spend a lot of money for a gel liner. It is super pigmented and a true black eyeliner and does apply quite smoothly. I did notice that it doesn't dry completly matte, it has a small amount of sheen to it.

Overall, i won't be buying this again. Yes, it is cheap but i think for me using a MAC or a Louise Young eyeliner brush, where they cost £15+, i would rather not ruin my makeup brushes and fork out a bit more for a Bobbi Brown Gel liner.

Have you used this eyeliner? What do you think?

Urban Decay Theodora Palette Review

I love all Urban Decay palettes and the new Theodora palette* was one i was eager to try. The palette comes with four full size eyeshadows and two duo eyeshadows. All these shades are brand new. It also comes with an 24/7 pencil in zero and a High Gloss Lip Colour in Theodora, which is a bright cherry red.

There is quite a variety of colours in this palette, which gives the flexibility to be able to create whichever look you wanted. I like the packaging because it seems much more sturdier, than some of the other palettes i have seen on the market. Plus, there is a huge mirror inside the palette.

The palette certainly does have more neutral colours, however the duos allow you to mix and match the shades or even accent the eyeshadows.

Broken - Creamy satin
Beware - Warm brown matte
Bewitch -Taupey, dark shimmery brown.
West - Chocolate brown shimmer
Spell - Gold/Black with gold flecks
Jealous - Pale Green/Olive Green

Left-Right: Broken, Beware, Bewitch, West, Spell, Jealous.

As you can see the eyeshadows are very pigmented and still work well on my dark skin tone. The eyeshadows applied very smoothly without any fallout. I am always happy with Urban Decay eyeshadows and this palette hasn't disappointed me.

I used this palette to recreate the Beyonce makeup from her performance at the Super Bowl and the colours were very close to what she wore on her eyes.

This is great for all skin tones and is amazing value for money, as you are getting six full eyeshadows, 24/7 eyeliner and a High Gloss Lip Colour, all for £35!

It is a limited edition product, that can be found in Debenhams and House of Fraser.

What are your thoughts on the palette?

Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

I have wanted to try the Benefit They're Real Mascara for so long and then a couple of months back i gave in and bought it! I was actually quite pleased with my purchase because you got a travel size mascara free!

With me, when i love a mascara, i will use them for ages and it takes a lot for me to change to another mascara. In the last three years i have only used MAC Plush Lash Mascara and the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes.

I have never been too keen on the rubber wands, however the L'Oreal mascara had a rubber wand, so i gave the Benefit mascara a chance. I adore the packaging of the mascara with the silver tube, as i haven't seen anything similar on the market.

The wand is very unique with how the bristles are and they grip every single lash, ensuring that the mascara has been evenly applied. It separates them, as well as lengthening them and makes the eyes appear more defined.

When i first tried the mascara, i just put on one coat and oh my goodness i could see the difference instantly! I normally apply two or three coats of mascara to my lashes and when i did, they looked longer and thicker but without the clumpiness.

At first i didn't notice any flakiness with the mascara, but then later on, i saw some mascara had flaked onto my face. I know for certain that it wasn't an old mascara but i think after time it does start to flake.....or maybe it was just me?

Overall, i do like this mascara but not sure about the flakiness! I have the travel size version, so will give it another go and hopefully it won't flake!

It retails at £18.50 and can be purchased HERE

Have you used this mascara? What do you think?

Dr Hauschka Cleansing Clay Mask Review

Many of you know that my skin has been going through a pretty rough time and i couldn't figure out why i kept breaking out. My diet has been pretty healthy, as well as going to the gym and drinking plenty of water! My skin would clear up but a day later more pimples would turn up! Well, Dr Hauschka's Cleansing Clay Mask* came to the rescue!

Now, i have heard many things about Dr Hauschka and i am always hesitant in trying new skin care products, just in case i aggravate my skin.

The mask comes as a powder form in a jar, and you have to mix it with a couple of teaspoons of tepid water. Once mixed all together, it forms a paste and then you apply onto the skin. I left the mask on for about 15 minutes and removed it with a warm muslin cloth. My cloth did go a muddy colour but it didn't stain the cloth.

You can use this mask if you are giving yourself an 'at home' facial. Use it after a steam treatment, or when you have just come out of the bath/shower and apply it to the skin. The steam helps open up the pores, and allows the clay mask to draw out the impurities.

My skin felt very smooth after removing this mask, however i don't know if that's due to the mask or the cloth! This didn't make my skin feel tight after i had removed the mask, as i tend to get that with some other face masks. It removes the excess oil, without dehydrating my skin and my pores seemed much more reduced, as i have quite large pores on my nose and cheeks.

  1. Before using the mask.
  2. This is after one use only!
  3. I then took another picture to show you how my skin looked the next day (24 hours later).
This is one of the best clay masks i have ever tried. You get 90g in a jar and it retails at £25.45, which i think it great value for money and the jar is also refillable. I have never used a mask that really made such a difference after one use and will certainly be recommending this to anyone who will listen!

Check out the Dr Hauschka website HERE.
